It is better for you to consider the replacing it before you do the repair process.

If you want to repair your USB cable, you need to prepare some tools like spare USB plug with the cable leading from it, soldering device, electric tape, wire cutter, sharp razor.

The first thing you should do is disconnecting the cable with any data or power source. Never do the repair process while the cable is still connecting with the computer or other devices. Then open the plastic cable cover and your new plug trailing cable for one cm.

You should separate the wire clusters from the cables. After that, you can plug each cable according to the insulation color. Prepare your soldering iron and heat it up. You will use the soldering iron to melt the tips of the cables. Do the same thing with the USB plug.

While you are soldering your cables, you also need to press the wires of the cables and the plug. Do it until the cables harden up. You should match the wire colors with each other. You cannot mix them.

After the soldering process, you should cool the cables until it has the room temperature. You can cover the exposed cable with the electric tape. Make sure you do it after the wires have cooled down.
